Question
My skin gets really oily throughout the day. Can it be due
to the foundation that I use? I would just use a powder
but I have acne and it doesn’t really cover the
redness. Should I apply a little foundation to cover
my acne? The foundation covers the acne however it also
makes my skin oily. So should I still apply foundation?
Aeslin
Answer
Dear Aeslin,
Since your skin is on the oilier side do check if your
foundation is an oil free formula? For your acne, you can
try our Cover Spot to conceal your acne and at the same
time combat breakouts and help healing. It contains Salicylic
Acid which is an antiseptic so it CANNOT be used as under
eye concealor or your eyes might swell due to the active
ingredient.
If you only want to cover your redness you can use Cover
Spot directly and powder, this should be able to cover
your redness yet you won't feel very oily.
But if you are going to apply blusher or eye shadow, you
have to apply foundation. Because foundation protects your
skin against the pore clogging ingredients that products
of other cosmetics brands may contain.
Question How
often should I wash my brush and puff? How should I go
about washing?
Vivian
Answer
Dear Vivian,
It depends on how often you use your brushes
and puff? If you are using it everyday then you should wash
them once a month, otherwise once in 2 to 3 months is fine.
Just keep your brushes in a closed cabinet to prevent brushes
from collecting dust n germs.
Wet brushes
with tap water, then use normal hair shampoo (hotel’s
mini shampoo is good), wash them till the rinsing water
is clear. Squeeze excess water out from brush and lay
brush down to dry. Never stand brushes up because all
the excess water will seep to the base of brush handle.
That will loosen the glue and cause all the hair to fall
out.
You can wash your
puff with soap or hand washing detergent. Just make sure
you don't use a very strong colored detergent that might
stain your puff. And rinse thoroughly to remove all traces
of soap or detergent.
Question
I
am interested in trying out Averine products as lately
I have been experiencing redness and occasional breakouts
to my previously flawless skin.
What is
the difference between shea butter and cocoa butter?
(You mentioned that cocoa butter is not good for the
skin, but shea butter is one of the ingredients in your
products).
Charmaine
Answer Dear
Charmaine,
We are not saying that cocoa butter is not good, it's
that in room temperature cocoa butter turns rancid (goes
bad) so they have to add in stabilizer to stabilize the
butter. Alternatively shea butter is an excellent emollient
for skin moisturizer without the worry of rancid problem
so easily.
Question
I
have bought the concealer, foundation and loose powder.
However I find that the loose powder does not stick to
the puff easily. Do I have to use a loose powder brush
instead?
Vivian
Answer
Dear
Vivian,
The puff is new so you need to use it a few more times
or the other alternative is to wash the puff first.
